CREATING PEACE READING CIRCLE is a monthly virtual gathering for readings, speakers, and discussion on zoom the fourth Friday of every month, as a guest program of Unity of Central Mass for their Friday Night Spiritual Practice events. The reading circle covers a wide range of books about animals and our relationships with them, nature, plant based living, and narratives of healing and transformation in the stories of both human and non-human lives.
The meeting format consists of selected readings and a talk by the host or guest speaker, followed by group discussion. The goal of the program is to explore both new and old books and writings, in community, that reflect on the principles of love in action and our relationship with the life we share the planet with, to inspire creating a kinder and more just world for all.
The Creating Peace Reading Circle programs so far have included Dawn Casteel Lorick with readings from Once Wild, as well as numerous books about sanctuaries, animals and healing; poetry, children’s books, fiction, non-fiction, biographies and even plant-based cookbooks.
