Jane O’Hara “State of the Union” at New Bedford Art Museum 2023

Three visual arts exhibitions, in different stages of creation, take a look at animal lives in relationship to the complex constructs projected onto other animals by humans.
Works from Jane O’Hara Projects’ recent exhibition “State of the Union” at New Bedford Art Museum 2023, ArtAnimalAffect’s new exhibition “Other Nations” in preparation for 2024, and Compassion Arts virtual exhibition in development on the “Animal Diaspora”, offer a visually compelling and thought-provoking program exploring the realms of cognitive dissonance, awe and reverence, and duality and otherness, in relationship with animals both seen and unseen, in and outside the human experience.
The program will be hosted by photography artist Shannon Johnstone and will feature Jane O’Hara for “State of the Union”, and the ArtAnimalAffect coalition for “Other “Nations” with Kathryn Eddy , Janell O’Rourke, LA Watson, and the “Animal Diaspora” exhibition project overview with curators Jane O’Hara & Janell O’Rourke for Compassion Arts.
