A presentation of readings, from writers and animal advocates in the literary arts, explores the experiences and perspectives of individuals of other species living in the world we share.

Hear seven authors read original poems and prose that celebrate more-than-human lives. These authors practice creative writing as a quiet adventure in paying "care-full" attention to those with whom we share the planet. Crafting a poem or story in someone’s honor—whether that someone is a shellfish, a rooster, or a boar—means bearing witness to and dreaming of their unique experiences.

In readings that illuminate an immersive literary landscape in unexpected ways, the program embraces a deepening of contemplation and intention, as we strive to really listen to other-than-human animals.

Featuring Jennifer Calkins, Marybeth Holleman, Joanna Lilley, Gretchen Primack, Linnea Ryshke, Deb Olin Unferth, and Mandy-Suzanne Wong
